Chicago has a lot of popular radio stations. The radio stations boast of a variety from rock to pop to classical music. Some non profit radio stations also broadcast religious news and the like. Here is a list of important Chicago radio stations.

88.1 FM is the frequency of Columbia College. This is a college radio and hence broadcasts campus news and youth oriented programs. Its id is WCRX. Id WXAV is the serial number of St. Xavier University. Its frequency is 88.3 FM. This also broadcasts college news. Id WHPK has the frequency of 88.5 FM and is known by the Chicago radio station name of University of Chicago.

This is a famous college radio. In addition to all these college radios, you also have a lot of radio stations in other languages as well. One of them is WRTE 90.5 - Your Non Profit Community Radio Station. This station as the name suggests is a non profit radio station and broadcasts programs in Spanish. But this is not all.

Chicago radio stations contain some of the finest channels in music. You mostly have one variety of radio station catering to one or two kinds of music preferences only. For instance, the WXRT 93.1 FM is called Chicago’s Finest Rock and as the name suggests plays some of the most hot and happening adult album alternatives on its radio playlist. This includes “My life would suck without you” by Kelly Clarkson, “When the world comes down”- Deluxe Edition by The All American Rejects and “The Fame”. It also consists of The Fray’s single, “You Found Me” and “808 & Heartbreak”- Bonus video Version by Kanye West.

In addition, Chicago radio stations also consist of the other frequencies. For instance, there is WBBM The NEW Killer Bee-B 96.3 which only caters to Hip Hop radio music. You also have the WDRV 96.9-The Drive. This radio station plays only classic rock. There are a few of Chicago’s radio stations.
