Chicago is no more the place of Al Capone and the gangs of Mafia. It has blossomed into a multicultural city where there are a lot of paces for everyone to see. You can enjoy world class shopping and even go for a visit to some very fine galleries of art. You can visit the Oak Street Beach. This is situated to the north of Magnificent Mile. This is a beach which is open for a lot of sports activities like cyclists, inline skaters, volley ball players and sunbathers. The sides of beach have concreted wide places; where you can lie down to take a sun bath. Or you can simply sit and watch people. This is a good Chicago thing to do if you are in the Oak Street Beach. One thing to note in this is that though there are restrooms and concessions in this beach but there are no parking facilities available. So it might be a good idea to walk if you are staying near to the beach. Or else take public transport.

Another Chicago thing to do is to visit the Soldier Field. This was built in 1920. Since 1971, this field has hosted the Chicago Bears Football team. In addition to this, this has also hosted several rock concerts, circuses, open air operas and stockcar races. It has also witnessed a lot of thrill shows, truck and tractor pulls, rodeos, fireworks displays, circuses, sunrise services, toboggan and skiing events; which also included a ski jump event in which the skier had to jump from a 13 story tall platform. But this field was not always like this. In the course of a few recent years, this has undergone a major renovation.
